JCC-PES Low Temperature PES Granules for Foam and Mattress Bonding

Polyurethane foam collapses above 115 C, and once it collapses the lamination is scrap. This grade was developed for converters who cannot afford that risk: the pellets liquefy between 95 and 105 C, wet out foam skins quickly, and set before the foam can deform. Foam tear, not adhesive peel, is the normal failure mode, which is exactly what a mattress or seat cushion bond should deliver.

Where It Performs

Mattress ticking to polyurethane core, memory foam topper lamination, seat cushion covers in furniture and office seating, foam to nonwoven in automotive seating inserts, and quilted padding where a stiff hand feel is unacceptable. The cured film stays soft after washing and dry cleaning cycles.

Running the Line

• Start the tank at 110 C, not higher. Raising temperature to force faster flow is what damages foam.
• Use 12-25 g per square metre for foam to fabric, 30 g per square metre for foam to foam.
• Nip pressure between 0.15 and 0.3 MPa gives full wet out without crushing cell structure.
• Purge with the same grade at shift end; a cold tank of this resin re-melts cleanly without charring.
