Product Description

This PUR adhesive is specially engineered for cloth-to-film lamination applications, offering superior bonding strength, flexibility, and durability. The adhesive is activated by heat and cures upon exposure to ambient moisture, undergoing a chemical crosslinking reaction that forms a strong, elastic bond layer between textile fabrics and various plastic films.

The formulation is optimized for use in automated or semi-automated lamination processes, where consistent adhesion and resistance to washing, bending, and thermal stress are critical.

Product Characteristics
  • Based on a polyurethane reactive hotmelt system, it will crosslink into thermosetting materials within days. After crosslinking, it has very high heat resistance (>150°C) and low temperature resistance, with excellent resistance to water and most solvents.
  • Lamination for breathable film and fabric, soft for touching.
  • This product can be generally used in winter, summer and applicable for all weather environments throughout the year.

Directions For Use
  • Recommended working temperature: in melting container, 100°C to 120°C; for roller application, 85°C to 105°C.
  • Recommended dosage: around 20 g/m2 for sponge, around 15-20 g/m2 for fabric to fabric, 8-12g/m2 for breathable film.
  • Storage and transportation: must be stored in a dry location, unused products must be sealed and stored and used as soon as possible.
  • Unopened original containers are stored in a cool, dry place. Shelf life: 6 months.
Cleaning

Cleaning the system periodically or prior to changing to an alternative reactive hot melt will reduce internal build-up of adhesive residue. Application devices should be thoroughly flushed at the end of a production run to avoid adhesive residue and gelling. Using matched PUR cleaner is recommended, and then using a non-abrasive scraper. Strictly follow the instructions of the machine manufacturer.

Safety

This product contains diphenylmethane diisocyanate, which has detectable vapor pressure even under the recommended operating temperature range. When the recommended operating temperature is greatly exceeded, a dangerous decomposition may form in the application unit. Therefore, measures need to be taken to extract steam or to operate sizing in a ventilated workshop. Do not attempt to violently remove the adhesive on the skin.

Important Note

The above suggestions on the performance and use of our products are based on our current knowledge and practical experience. Due to different operation situations and objects, there will be different operation processes, so we solemnly suggest that before using this product, adequate prior trials should be carried out to ensure the product meets the expected operation process. JCC takes no responsibility for act of intent and consequences caused by not operating in accordance with the technical regulations or oral statements.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is PUR lamination?
PUR (Polyurethane Reactive) lamination uses a reactive hot-melt adhesive to bond films to fabrics, foams, non-woven fabrics, etc. It forms a durable composite structure through thermal bonding (using laminating machines or hot presses).
Is PUR lamination waterproof and breathable?

Waterproof: The PUR adhesive itself isn't waterproof, but when bonded with TPU, PE, or PTFE films, it achieves excellent waterproof performance.

Breathable: Breathability depends on the film used. Microporous TPU or PTFE films allow for both waterproofing and breathability.

Is it washable after lamination? Will it delaminate?
PUR-laminated fabrics offer excellent wash durability--usually withstand 40 to 60 washes (depending on the adhesive and film). Proper processing ensures no delamination or bubbling.
Can it be used for protective clothing, outdoor wear, or sportswear?
Yes, it's widely used in functional textiles such as: softshell jackets, protective clothing, ski wear, tent fabrics, and outdoor and athletic gear.
Does PUR-laminated fabric have a shelf life?
Once cured, the bond is stable and long-lasting. Under normal use and care, its durability matches that of the fabric itself, with no peeling over time.
