Thermoplastic Hot Melt Adhesive Strips are specially engineered for use in professional shoe manufacturing processes, providing strong, durable, and flexible bonding for various footwear materials. These adhesive strips are widely used in both toe puff (front part) and heel counter (rear part) applications, playing a vital role in ensuring the structural integrity, comfort, and lasting shape of the finished shoes.


Usage Instructions for Hot Melt Adhesive Strips in Shoe Material Bonding

(Applicable to both toe puff and heel counter applications)


1. Material Preparation

Ensure all shoe materials (leather, fabric, mesh, etc.) are clean, dry, and free of oil or dust.

Select the appropriate type of hot melt adhesive strip based on the shoe design, bonding area, and material characteristics.


2. Heating Equipment Setup

Use specialized heating equipment such as:

  • Hot press machines (combined heating and pressing)
  • Hot air guns (manual operation)
  • Infrared heaters or conveyor-type heating systems (for assembly lines)
  • Preheat the equipment to the required temperature:
  • Recommended temperature: 80°C–120°C (depending on adhesive formulation)


3.  Heating and Bonding Process

(1) Place the hot melt adhesive strip onto the bonding area (e.g., inner side of toe puff or heel counter mold).

(2) Heat until the strip softens and becomes tacky (avoid overheating to prevent carbonization).

(3) Quickly place the upper material over the adhesive and apply pressure to shape and bond:

(4) Toe area: use a last and pressing device for shaping.

(5) Heel area: use a heel counter forming machine to press and shape.


4. Cooling and Shaping

Maintain pressure for several seconds to allow the adhesive to cool and solidify.

Once cooled, the strip will return to a tough and flexible state, forming a strong internal bond and providing structural support.


5. Post-Processing

Check the bonding strength and shape integrity.

Proceed with the next steps such as upper attachment, stitching, or edge finishing.
