How to Choose Heat-Pressing Equipment for Using Hot-Melt Webs/Films
Common heat-pressing equipment includes irons, flat heat-press machines (manual pressure), flat laminating machines (rewind type), and drum laminating machines.
In general, for home use or small garment workshops where bonding requirements are not very high, an iron or a manual flat heat-press machine is sufficient, and the cost is relatively low.
If you choose to use an iron, it is best to select an industrial iron with temperature control, which makes it easier to manage the operating temperature. Of course, a regular household iron can also work, as most irons can reach temperatures above 160°C. However, be sure to avoid using steam or spraying water, as moisture can reduce bonding strength.
For users with higher bonding volume requirements or better production conditions, flat laminating machines or drum laminating machines are better options. These machines are larger and more expensive, typically ranging from a few thousand to tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of RMB. Compared with irons and manual heat-press machines, they offer greater automation and higher efficiency.
